Job summary

Egg Harbor Township Board of Education is seeking an Assistant Cook at the High School for 19.5 hours per week. You will assist in cost‑effective menu planning and food preparation under the Head Cook and Director of Food Services, ensuring nutritious meals and safe handling.

Starting pay is $16.95 per hour plus a $1.50 hourly differential; applicants must pass health and background checks. Prior hospitality experience and English proficiency are required, with a clean, professional appearance

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years experience in hospitality field.

• Exhibits a helpful, positive, and friendly attitude towards all associates.
• Is clean, well groomed, and wears proper attire at all times.

• Ability to pass the Sexual Misconduct Child Abuse Disclosure.
• Ability to Pass Pre-employment Physical Exam.
• Experience working in a school cafeteria (Desired).
• Knowledge of the healthy hunger free kids act (H.H.F.K.A.) requirements (Desired).

Responsibilities

• Reports to the Head Cook.
• Assists in cost effective menu preparation by meeting the standards set down by the Head Cook.
• Performs all aspects of kitchen duties as directed by the Head Cook/Director of Food Services.
• Assists with the supervision of staff, planning, and organizing the kitchen.
• Maintains health and safety standards in accordance with the Atlantic County Department of Health.
