Job Description

This is a school year position consisting of five, six (6) hour days (7:00am - 1:00pm). Salary shall be set in accordance with the contract between the Middleborough Public Schools and the Middleborough Education Association Inc., Cafeteria Workers.

QUALIFICATIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ability to follow written and verbal directions and to work independently.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting, and operate a variety of kitchen equipment.
• Knowledge of sanitation and proper food handling procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff and student population.
• Ability to operate a variety of kitchen equipment.
• Willingness to learn operation of computerized point of sale (POS) system.
• Function and catering experience preferred.
• ServSafe Certification preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience or training in institutional (preferably school) food service.

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
