Cook/Baker – Food Services Team Member – 5.25 hours/day

Department: Food Services

Job Title: Cook/Baker

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Food Services Manager

General Description

Under the direction of the Food Services Manager, the Cook/Baker prepares, bakes and distributes food service items for students and staff while maintaining facilities in a sanitary condition.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work with students, staff and public.
• Ability to solve challenging situations.
• Ability to manage complex projects and multiple deadlines.

Essential Job Duties

• Prepares and serves food and beverage items to meet nutritional standards, menu plans and catering needs.
• Cleans and maintains utensils, equipment and storage areas to uphold hygiene standards.
• Prepares required documentation and reports.
• Requests food, equipment and supplies to maintain adequate inventory.
• Maintains positive relations with students, staff and the community to support program interactions.
• Accounts for cash transactions to keep accurate records.

Other Job Functions

• Assists other personnel as needed.
• Maintains prompt and regular attendance.
• Completes other job duties as required.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Work typically conducted during the school day in a school environment.

Physical Requirements:

• Walk, climb, stoop, reach and bend.
