Job summary

Windward Risk Managers in Florida seeks an experienced Assistant Controller (CPA required) to support the Controller in leading accounting and financial reporting, budgeting, cost allocation, and operations. This role oversees month-end close, financial reporting, and process improvements while mentoring the accounting team.

The position offers a hybrid schedule: four days in the office and one day remote after training; during onboarding, work onsite five days per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and CPA license required.
• More than five years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience with budgeting, cost allocation, and month-end close.
• Ability to lead a team and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end closing and preparation of monthly internal statements.
• Review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and reports.
• Support AP and Claims Billing functions as needed.
• Train and mentor junior staff and assist with audits.
• Develop cost allocation methodologies and monitor variances.
