Job summary

Dover-Corporation, including MPG in Salisbury, Maryland, seeks an Hands-on Assistant Plant Controller to support the location management team and corporate requirements. You will handle financial close, cost accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, asset safeguarding and supervising staff.

Responsibilities include monthly close, internal controls, GAAP compliance and providing financial analysis for projects and ventures.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Accounting or Finance and CPA certification.
• 5+ years of financial/accounting experience with progressive responsibility.
• Strong communication skills and GAAP knowledge.
• Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Safeguard assets and implement internal controls across all departments.
• Oversee accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing, collections, inventory, fixed assets and cost accounting.
• Manage monthly close, journal entries, reconciliations and GAAP-compliant reporting.
• Collaborate with peer controllers and corporate staff to share best practices.
• Produce timely monthly financial records and align plans with organizational goals.
• Provide financial analysis for ventures, projects and capital expenditures.
• Interface with outside auditors, banks and insurance providers.
