Green Key Resources is seeking an Assistant Controller to join the accounting and finance team in New York. This role focuses on quarterly and annual SEC filings, GAAP reporting, and close processes, offering exposure to CFO and Controller leadership.

The ideal candidate is a CPA with Big 4 and SEC reporting experience, ready to drive improvements and collaborate with senior management on strategic initiatives in a public company environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• CPA required.
• 8–15 years of accounting experience; 10+ years encouraged.
• Big 4 public accounting experience preferred.
• Strong SEC reporting experience, including Form 10-Q and 10-K.
• Public company reporting experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and disclosure requirements.
• Advanced Excel skills required.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced reporting environment.
• Desire to grow into a broader accounting leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and review of quarterly and annual SEC filings, including Forms 10-Q and 10-K.
• Prepare financial statements and related footnote disclosures in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Draft and review MD&A support schedules, disclosure checklists, and reporting packages.
• Coordinate filing timelines and reporting deliverables across internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist with earnings support schedules and public company reporting requirements.
• Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Review account reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules.
• Analyze financial results and investigate significant fluctuations and reporting variances.
• Support implementation of process improvements and enhanced reporting controls.
• Prepare management and board reporting materials.
• Develop presentations and analytical reporting packages for senior leadership.
• Support ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives undertaken by the finance organization
