1-800-FLOWERS.COM, INC. is seeking an Assistant Controller to lead the GL accounting team, oversee revenue recognition under ASC 606, AR/AP, inventory, and SOX controls.

The role emphasizes GAAP research, cross-functional collaboration, and timely financial reporting across e-commerce and wholesale brands. The position requires strong ERP skills (Oracle), advanced Excel, and the ability to communicate complex financial information to executives and non-finance partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting or relevant experience.
• Minimum 5 years in a manufacturing environment with food industry and manufacturing cost accounting experience.
• Strong technical and analytical capabilities with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., Oracle) and advanced Excel.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills for non-finance stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily, weekly, and monthly general accounting activities including close, audit support, and reconciliations.
• Direct posting of entries from e-commerce and wholesale brands for GAAP compliance.
• Provide variance analysis to leadership; partner with managers for budget insights.
• Review revenue, A/R, deferred revenue, and cash reconciliations.
• Oversee SOX controls across processes.
• Communicate variance analysis to non-financial partners.
• Present information to executive leadership.
• Coordinate month-end close with marketing teams for catalog and digital advertising expenses.
• Support Finance Managers and Accounting Managers with financial data users.
• Handle special projects as assigned.
