Job summary

1-800-FLOWERS.COM, INC. is seeking an Assistant Controller to lead the GL accounting function and manage a skilled team in the day-to-day close processes.

You will oversee revenue under ASC 606, AR/AP, inventory/cost accounting, and intercompany activities, while partnering with department managers on variances and GAAP guidance. This role reports to Finance leadership and supports SOX controls and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting or equivalent experience.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and financial analysis skills.
• Experience with ERP systems (Oracle) and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day activities of the GL accounting department and supervise staff.
• Oversee revenue under ASC 606, AR/AP, inventory/cost accounting, and intercompany.
• Coordinate month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and audits.
• Review GAAP pronouncements and advise on impacts of changes.
• Communicate variance analysis to leadership and non-financial partners.
• Coordinate catalog advertising and digital marketing expenses and accruals.
• Support managers with financial information users and ad hoc projects.
