1-800-FLOWERS.COM, INC is seeking an Assistant Controller to lead the GL accounting team, manage month-end close, and ensure GAAP compliance across revenue, AR/AP, inventory, and audits. The position collaborates with operations and marketing to optimize financial processes.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's in accounting/finance, 5+ years in manufacturing or food-cost accounting, strong ERP (Oracle) and advanced Excel skills, plus clear communication with non-financial partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting or relevant experience.
• Minimum 5 years in a manufacturing environment with food industry and manufacturing cost accounting experience.
• Strong technical and analytical capabilities with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., Oracle) and advanced Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, Power Query).
• Excellent communication and organizational skills for non-finance stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily, weekly, and monthly activities of general accounting including month-end close, audits, reconciliations, and ad hoc requests.
• Direct accurate posting of entries from e-commerce and wholesale across brands, ensuring GAAP compliance.
• Partner with managers to provide variance analysis to leadership.
• Oversee revenue processes including deferred revenue, A/R, and cash reconciliations.
