Job summary

LHH is seeking an Assistant Controller in the Greater SF Bay Area. This hybrid, direct-hire role focuses on strengthening processes, ensuring accurate reporting, and scaling systems to support long-term goals.

You will lead a team of accounting professionals and collaborate with executives to drive compliance and business insights. Responsibilities include overseeing the close cycle, core accounting functions, and internal controls, while guiding budgeting and forecasting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance with progressive growth.
• Experience leading accounting teams and driving process improvements.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and financial reporting skills.
• Experience with ERP systems, ideally NetSuite, and advanced Excel.
• Professional certifications such as CPA or CMA are a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of accounting professionals including staff and senior accounting managers.
• Oversee the full close cycle and deliver timely, accurate financial statements.
• Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll operations.
• Ensure internal controls and audit readiness; support external audits.
• Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
