Job summary

Mason & Blair, LLC in Santa Clara, CA, is seeking an Assistant Controller to lead the GL, tax compliance, and AP operations in a hands-on, onsite role.

This position drives financial accuracy, internal controls, and reporting for the organization, requiring 8–15 years in accounting, a California CPA, and familiarity with Oracle Enterprise Business Suite. The successful candidate will mentor staff, coordinate with Operations Managers, and execute special projects for the CFO and executive team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 8-15 years of accounting experience, to include both public accounting and corporate accounting in a larger organization.
• CPA - California
• Knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Business Suite preferred

Responsibilities

• Monthly preparation and review of financial statements and operating budgets.
• Provide administration and technical direction to Accounts Payable and General Accounting. Training and evaluating staff.
• Interface with Operations Managers regarding monthly financial statements.
• Review and suggest changes to accounting procedure.
• Daily banking functions.
• Special projects and reports as requested by CFO and Executive team.
• Oversee all Accounts Payable and General Accounting functions.
• Training staff on preparation, technical accounting policy, and procedures.
• Collaborate with IT on accounting related projects.
• Assist in yearly performance reviews.

Will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, ensuring tax compliance, and overseeing General Accounting and Accounts Payable operations. This position offers the opportunity to drive financial accuracy, strengthen internal controls, and contribute to the organization's overall financial success.
