Alvarez Construction Co., LLC is seeking an Assistant Controller to lead financial reporting and cost accounting for a top Louisiana homebuilder. The role blends close processes with operational finance, partnering with Purchasing, Construction, Sales, and Operations to drive performance.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in accounting, especially in cost or project accounting within construction or manufacturing settings, and experience mentoring accounting staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong background in cost accounting, inventory accounting, project accounting, manufacturing, construction, or other operational accounting environments.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process.
• Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and accounting records.
• Analyze financial results and investigate variances.
• Assist with audits, tax support, and regulatory reporting.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.
