Job summary

Power Solutions is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to support the Controller and CFO in managing the company's accounting operations within a fast-paced commercial electrical construction environment.

This leadership role focuses on financial reporting, monthly close activities, and strong internal controls, with performance metrics tied to job costing, POC, WIP reporting, and project profitability. A construction-ERP background and CPA are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance required.
• CPA certification preferred or required.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive construction accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition, POC, WIP, and job costing.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
• Review job cost reporting, contract status, and WIP schedules to ensure accurate project financial reporting.
• Partner with Project Managers to analyze project performance, budgets, costs, and profitability.
• Maintain and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and SOX compliance procedures.
• Coordinate on internal and external audits, providing supporting schedules and documentation.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff while fostering a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
• Perform other accounting and financial projects as assigned.
