Job summary

Power Solutions is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to support the Controller and CFO in managing accounting operations within a fast-paced commercial electrical construction environment. This leadership role focuses on financial reporting, monthly close, and strong internal controls, partnering with project management to improve processes.

The ideal candidate has construction accounting experience, ASC 606 knowledge, POC, WIP reporting, and job costing, with leadership capabilities

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA certification is required (active or inactive).
Minimum 5 years of progressive construction accounting experience.
Strong knowledge of ASC 606, POC, WIP, and job costing.
GAAP, internal controls, and SOX compliance understanding.

Responsibilities

Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes with journals, accruals, reconciliations, and analysis.
Review job cost reporting, contract status, and WIP schedules for accurate project reporting.
Partner with Project Managers to analyze project performance, budgets, costs, and profitability.
Maintain internal controls and accounting policies; ensure SOX compliance.
Coordinate internal/external audits with supporting schedules and documentation.
Supervise and develop accounting staff in a collaborative, high-performing team.
Lead other accounting and financial projects as assigned.
