Job summary

SendCutSend is seeking an Assistant Controller to lead day-to-day accounting operations, including payroll, AP/AR, and GL, while driving scalable processes for growth. You will report to the Controller and oversee month-end close and financial reporting in a hands-on, manufacturing environment at our Reno headquarters.

You will mentor staff, ensure GAAP compliance across multi-state regulations, and collaborate on forecasting and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Experience overseeing payroll, multi-state sales and use tax compliance, and financial reporting.
• Strong ERP experience and advanced Excel skills; Google Workspace knowledge a plus.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Controller in managing the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and the general ledger.
• Train, mentor, and assist with performance evaluations for accounting staff.
• Ensure compliance with multi-state and federal laws, GAAP standards.
• Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Lead month-end and year-end closing processes promptly and accurately.
• Coordinate with external auditors during year-end reviews.
• Collaborate on financial strategies and forecast development.
• Develop and maintain internal accounting controls to protect assets and mitigate risk.
• Evaluate procedures and implement more efficient solutions.
• Support ERP implementation, optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
