Job summary

Thompson Coburn LLP in St. Louis seeks a full-time exempt Assistant Controller to oversee daily accounting operations and ensure accurate financial reporting.

You will lead accounting staff, strengthen internal controls, and coordinate with leadership to support strategic decisions. Reporting to the Senior Director, Finance, you will manage month-end close, audits, and tax support while advancing process improvements and financial systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA license strongly preferred.
• Minimum eight years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
• Minimum five years of supervisory or managerial experience.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily accounting operations including AP, payroll, GL, and financial reporting.
• Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Maintain internal controls and accounting policies.
• Coordinate audits and external tax filings.
• Lead staff development and performance evaluations.
