Job summary

Lansing Community College is seeking an Assistant Controller to oversee grants accounting, supervise staff, manage restricted fund postings in the ERP system, and participate in the monthly close with data analysis and grant reporting. The role supports the Foundation ledger and assists with audits and reviews.

Regular on-campus presence is expected; flexible/hybrid schedules may be approved by the College and can change based on College needs.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field from a regionally accredited college.
Demonstrated experience working with general ledger and fund balance reconciliations, and data analysis.
Leadership experience in a team-based environment, including group facilitation and collaboration.
Significant experience working with integrated financial systems and Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily operation and supervision of the grants accounting staff.
Oversee the restricted fund transactions in the College ERP systems and ensure postings are accurate and funds reconciled.
Participate in the monthly close process including data analysis, account reconciliations and required grant reporting schedules.
Oversee the Lansing Community College Foundation general ledger, financial transaction posting, and financial reporting.
Play an active role in annual financial audits and granting agency audits and reviews.
