Job summary

1-800-FLOWERS.COM, INC is seeking an AssistantController to lead the GL accounting team, oversee GAAP compliance, and manage revenue, AR/AP, and cost accounting for multiple brands. You will guide month-end closes, audits, and SOX controls, partnering with marketing and leadership to drive accurate financial reporting.

The role requires 5+ years in manufacturing or food-industry accounting, strong ERP/Excel skills, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting or relevant experience.
• Minimum 5 years in a manufacturing environment with food industry and cost accounting experience.
• Strong technical and analytical capabilities with ERP/accounting systems and Excel.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills for non-finance stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily, weekly, and monthly activities of general accounting and close cycles.
• Direct posting of entries from e-commerce and wholesale brands, ensuring GAAP compliance.
• Provide variance analysis support to leadership and department managers.
• Oversee revenue processes including deferred revenue, A/R, and cash reconciliations.
• Oversee SOX controls for all processes.
• Communicate variance analysis to non-financial partners and executives.
• Coordinate month-end close with marketing for catalog ads and digital spend.
• Support Finance and Accounting Managers with financial information users.
• Manage special projects as assigned.
