Job summary

Gallagher-Kaiser Corporation in Michigan is seeking a seasoned accounting professional to assist the Controller with journal entries, monthly closings, and financial statements. The role oversees accounts payable and accounts receivable, processes 401(k) compliance, and supports sales and use tax reporting.

You will supervise staff accountants, coordinate with external accountants for year-end audits, and help manage cash flow forecasting while ensuring adherence to U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in finance, accounting or similar.
• 5+ years’ experience in a similar accounting role.
• Strong Excel skills (pivot, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP).
• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform and maintain reconciliations for general ledger accounts, including intercompany balances.
• Prepare monthly closings and financial statements.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processing and approvals.
• Coordinate payroll-related reports and 401(k) plan compliance.
• Assist with sales/use tax reporting and exemptions; support year-end audits.
