McDonald Automotive Group, a long‑standing Colorado family‑owned company, seeks an Assistant Controller – Fixed Operations to lead accounting for real estate, inventory, and service/parts operations across multiple brands. You will partner with Service and Parts managers, oversee GL close, and strengthen internal controls to support growth.

The role emphasizes collaboration with operational leaders, accuracy in financial reporting, and continuous process improvement to drive performance.

Qualifications

• At least three years progressive accounting experience involving GL, reconciliations, month-end close, and financial-statement analysis.
• Experience analyzing P&L performance and communicating results to operational leaders.
• Experience with inventory accounting, reconciliation, and financial controls.
• CPA designation or active progress toward CPA licensure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide accounting oversight for real-estate entities, inventory, A/R, A/P, collision operations, wholesale auto-parts, and insurance-related entities.
• Lead and coordinate month-end close activities for assigned departments and entities.
• Review GL activity, journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and supporting documentation.
• Translate financial results into actionable information for operating leaders and drive process improvements.
