Job summary

Cubiscan is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join our finance and accounting team and support the Controller in financial operations. The role emphasizes financial reporting, accounting processes, internal controls, and day-to-day management while growing understanding of Cubiscan's business and ERP system (Syteline).

The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting knowledge, sound business judgment, and the ability to take on increasing responsibility as Cubiscan grows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA, active CPA candidacy, or MBA.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
• Experience with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Strong Excel, database, and analytical skills.
• Experience with an ERP or accounting system.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with management and other departments.
• High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential financial information.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day management of accounting functions.
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and provide meaningful information to management.
• Manage and review general ledger activity and account reconciliations.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reports.
• Assist with accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management, fixed assets, sales tax reporting and inventory accounting.
• Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, valuation, and financial analysis.
• Support external audits, tax preparation, annual valuation, and other financial compliance activities.
• Work with department managers to understand and explain financial performance and variances.
• Champion accounting system modernization and process improvement while maintaining policies and controls.
• Develop proficiency in Cubiscan's ERP and accounting system (Syteline).
• Understand ESOP and 401(k) reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with Controller to build institutional knowledge.
• Assume increasing levels of responsibility as needs evolve.
