Our client is an organization in the Waukesha County area that’s looking for a Controller. This company is looking for someone with 5+ years of experience, inquisitive, and has strong communication skills. Base pay range

$110,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr

The Assistant Controller will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

Responsibilities

• Owns the full cycle monthly close process, including preparing journal entries for accruals and allocations, and preparation of internal and external financial statements and management reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Review general ledger and financial statements for accuracy; prepare monthly general ledger and balance sheet account reconciliations
• Drive variance analysis related to financial results, including job variance analysis, labor and burden rate analysis, pricing analysis, missing costs analysis, etc.
• Performs daily, monthly, and annual accounting processes in compliance with company policies
• Serve as primary audit contact, managing SOX documentation
• Assist with financial budgeting, forecasting and reporting processes
• Support monthly and annual inventory activities, including cycle counting and E&O analysis
• Assist with supervision of team, analysis, and ad-hoc projects

The Assistant Controller will possess the following:

Experience Required

• Bachelor’s degree required in accounting, finance or related field; CPA strongly preferred
• 5+ years of related experience in a manufacturing / cost accounting environment
• Strong GAAP, inventory, and cost accounting knowledge
• A self-starter with the ability to identify issues and take initiative for process improvement
• Demonstrates strong project and time management skills
• Actively champions continuous manufacturing and process improvements
