Terra Contracting, Inc. is seeking an organized accounting professional to join our team in Seattle. Ideal candidates have 3+ years of construction accounting experience and can work independently under deadlines. Training is provided and payroll reporting knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years construction or general accounting experience.
• Minimum 2 year degree required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Systems; advanced Excel skills.
• Strong 10-key and data entry experience.
• Experience in construction software a plus.
• Professional communication.
• Pass pre-employment drug screening & background check.

Responsibilities

• A/R: handle AIA progress billing, lien releases, intercompany tie outs.
• A/P: manage PO-based payables with job costing, verify balances.
• Payroll entry and weekly processing for 100+ employees.
• Quarterly and Annual Payroll Reports - 940/941, SUTA, Fuel Rebate Filing.
• Certified Payroll/Davis Bacon - Prevailing Wage Calculations.
• Lien Releases, Mechanic’s Liens, Collections.
• W-2’s.
• 1099’s.
• Job Costing/Fuel Usage Maintenance/Company Data Management.
• General Ledger Reviews and assist in financial statement preparation.

Full job description Are you an organized and detail-oriented self-starter who strives for excellence and accuracy? The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years accounting experience with the ability to quickly grasp new methods and processes. You must be able to work independently in a firm deadline environment. Experience in quarterly/annual payroll reporting, and knowledge of prevailing wages is a plus. AIA billing or Construction experience in a payroll capacity is required. If YOU are the right candidate, WE WILL TRAIN!

Responsibilities

• Accounts Receivable: AIA progress billing, managing lien releases, intercompany tie outs.
• Accounts Payable: Work within a PO System of checks and balances with job costing; Verify balances due against releases provided to expedite billing.
• Payroll entry and weekly processing for 100+ employees.
• Quarterly and Annual Payroll Reports - 940/941, SUTA, Fuel Rebate Filing.
