Job summary

Cohere is seeking a senior accounting leader to own the month-end close and oversee audits across entities in a remote-friendly, fast-growing tech environment. This role sits at the heart of our finance team and shapes how we report, govern, and scale our accounting practices.

You will drive system implementations, policy development, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure accurate financial reporting and insightful business guidance.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong technical accounting skills and deep understanding of GAAP principles.
  • Experience owning month-end close processes and managing audit relationships.
  • Excellence in problem-solving and process improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency with financial systems (Netsuite preferred).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Thriving in high-growth, dynamic environments with evolving priorities.
  • Experience building scalable accounting processes in technology companies.

In This Role, You Will
  • Lead and own the complete month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting across all entities

You May Be a Good Fit If You
  • Have 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with prior leadership in fast‑paced environments
  • Possess strong technical accounting skills and deep understanding of GAAP principles
  • Have direct experience owning month‑end close processes and managing audit relationships
  • Demonstrate excellence in problem‑solving and process improvement methodologies
  • Show proficiency with financial systems (Netsuite preferred, but not required)
  • Exhibit strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments

Compensation

For candidates in the United States, the Compensation Range is $200,000 – $310,000 USD.

For candidates in Canada, the Compensation Range is $285,000 – $350,000 CAD.
