Job summary

Wisdom Teeth Guys is seeking an Assistant Controller to help develop accounting policies and oversee all financial procedures for the company. This fully remote role targets detail-oriented, highly organized individuals.

The Assistant Controller will monitor the company’s financial status, assist with month-end close, and support multi-market operations across the US. Strong GAAP knowledge and hands-on accounting experience are essential.

Qualifications

• GAAP knowledge and procedures in daily practice.
• Hands-on experience with general ledger, AP and AR.
• Experience with cash management and bank reconciliations.
• Experience with monthly close and financial statements.
• Experience with intercompany transfers and merchant reconciliations.
• Experience handling 1099s and unclaimed property.
• Experience collaborating with other departments in a customer-service way.
• Experience in multi-location and multi-entity operations.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile multiple bank accounts.
• Provide accounting support to all other department managers and staff (billing and collections, marketing and sales, call center, clinical).
• Ensure compliance with accounting and tax regulations.
• Assist with monthly close and producing financial statements.
• Assist in the financial duties of starting up new markets.
• Manage merchant account reconciliation and PCI compliance.
• Work with insurance claims team on claims funds reconciliation.
• Manage petty cash and cash deposits with surgery managers.
• Manage intercompany transfers and funding sheets.
• Handle equipment asset accounts and loans.
• Annually handle 1099's and unclaimed property.

As Assistant Controller, you'll assist in monitoring the company's financial status and managing day to day accounting transactions.

Position is fully remote.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile multiple bank accounts
• Provide accounting support to all other department managers and staff (billing and collections, marketing and sales, call center, clinical)

Requirements

Skills

• Work experience as an Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant, or similar role
• Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accounting principles and procedures
• Hands-on experience with general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Experience with cash management and bank reconciliations
• Experience with monthly close and preparing financial statements
• Experience with intercompany transfers and merchant account reconciliation
• Experience handling 1099's and unclaimed property
• Experience supporting and interfacing with other departments in a customer-service-oriented way
• Experience with multi-location and multi-entity operations
• Experience working with billing and collections teams is a plus
• Experience managing other accounting staff members is a plus
• Experience in a dental support organization is a plus

Experience:

• QuickBooks: 3+ years (Required)
• Accounting Management: 5+ years (Required)

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred
