Assistant Controller

Essential Duties & Functions
- Assist the Director of Finance in overseeing daily accounting operations and supporting a positive, high‑performing work environment.
- Support month‑end close, including preparation of financial reports, reconciliations, and review of general ledger entries.
- Supervise the Accounts Payable Administrator and Senior Cash Receipts Specialist.
- Manage cash functions including day‑to‑day cash projections, bank reconciliations, and credit card oversight.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
- Prepare internal reports and analytics that highlight trends and support leadership decision‑making.
- Support external audit processes and maintain current financial policies and procedures.
- Facilitate training and cross‑training for accounting team members and help strengthen internal controls.
- Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and adherence to deadlines within a fast‑paced environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least one year in a supervisory or lead role.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong overall computer proficiency.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to a changing environment.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work well in a team‑focused culture.
- Experience in healthcare or multi‑entity environments is a plus but not required.
