Job summary

Southwest Electrical Contracting Services is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to support our growing accounting team in Texas. This temporary assignment may transition to full-time based on performance.

You will own the close process during the bridge period, review journal entries, and act as the primary Accounting contact for an entity carve-out project, with year-end audit planning and PBC management, bank reporting, and reconciliation discipline.

Qualifications

• Hands-on, Controller-level accounting leadership experience.
• Able to run the close independently from day one with minimal ramp time.
• Construction or WIP accounting experience.
• Spectrum ERP Experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the close process during the bridge period
• Review journal entries prepared by senior accountant
• Serve as primary Accounting contact for entity carve-out project
• Year-end audit planning and ownership of PBC request list
• Maintain reconciliation discipline and ensure completion
• Prepare quarterly & annual bank reports & financial statements
• Own WIP schedule review & tie-out
• Transition responsibilities to the permanent Assistant Controller over a 30–60-day handoff period
