Madden’s on Gull Lake seeks an Assistant Controller to join our Finance team. This 100% onsite role supports the Controller, ensuring precise financial records, timely payments, and robust controls across AR/AP, month-end close, and reporting to management.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance and 5+ years in financial reporting, GL, budgeting, and analysis. CPA/CMA is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Minimum of 5+ years of financial reporting, general ledger accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
• CPA or CMA designation preferred but not required.

Responsabilités

• Ensure accounts payable are coded properly and paid in a timely manner.
• Ensure group billings and accounts receivable are collected promptly.
• Review and reconcile AR accounts monthly.
• Prepare monthly and annual GAAP financial statements, journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Assist Controller in delivering financial statements to management and budgets.

This position plays a key role in the department as the primary support to the Controller. This role helps ensure accurate financial records, timely payment applications, proper cash controls, and compliance with company policies and accounting procedures. This role is 100% onsite.Accounting: Daily/Weekly/Monthly Duties:• Ensure that accounts payable are coded properly and paid in a timely manner• Ensure that group billings and accounts receivable are collected promptly• Review and reconcile all AR accounts monthly• Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed• Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions• Assist Controller in delivering financial statements to management• Maintain revenue management system by routinely updating forecasts and co-managing yielded rates• Track and assist sales team in reporting AR Aging.Reporting Duties:• Prepare monthly and annual GAAP financial statements, journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations for Controller approval.• Prepare and file monthly sales tax returns.• Assist the Controller in the preparation of the annual budget and forecasts• Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management• Provide for a system of management cost reportsCompetencies:• Financial Management• Technical Capacity.• Performance Management.• Ethical Conduct.• Communication Proficiency.• Personal Effectiveness/Credibility.• Guest Focus.Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:• Must be flexible, dependable, and able to multi-task while managing priorities and initiatives• Ability to work independently and in a team• Good verbal, written and analytical skills• Responsible for implementing and maintaining excellent service to achieve guest satisfaction.• Maintains a pro-active “can-do” attitudeEducation/Experience:• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance• Minimum of 5+ years of financial reporting, general ledger accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis• CPA or CMA designation preferred but not required.Supervisory Responsibilities:• This position does not require any supervisory responsibilities.Work Environment:• This role is 100% onsite.Physical Demands:• Primarily stationery (sitting or standing for extended periods)• Ability to communicate in person and by phone• Occasional bending, kneeling, crouching, and lifting boxes or items up to 50 poundsExpected Hours of Work:8:00am – 4:30pm Monday through FridayEEO StatementMadden’s is an equal opportunity employer.
