Job summary

Responsibilities

• Manage the fixed asset system and depreciation while ensuring policy compliance.
• Reconcile accounting inaccuracies or imbalances.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end journal entries.
• Meet month end, quarter end, and year end close deadlines for journal entries and reporting.
• Prepare financial statements to summarize and forecast the company’s financial status.
• Produce and manage balance sheets and analyze future earnings and expenses.
• Assist with management of accounting, auditing, and budgeting processes.
• Assist with preparations for audits.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and prepare reports for governing bodies.
• Use accounting software to maintain records and prepare reports.
• Coordinate with General Manager and upper management.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Controller, under minimal management, provides supervision and control of the finance functions with a focus on month/quarter and year-end closing process and planning/budgeting/forecasting. This position customarily and regularly exercises discretion and independent judgment making recommendations for courses of action for the business.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Manages the fixed asset system, calculates and books depreciation while ensuring compliance with corporate policy.
• Reconciles accounting inaccuracies or imbalances.
• Prepares monthly, quarterly, and year-end journal entries.
• Meets strict month end, quarter end, and year end close deadlines for journal entries and reporting.
• Prepares financial statements to summarize and forecast the company’s financial status.
• Produces and manages balance sheets and analyzes future earnings and expenses.
• Assists with the management of accounting, auditing, and budgeting with the organization.
• Assists with preparations for audits.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field.
• At least 3 years’ experience in accounting
• Accounts payable, accounts receivable, costing, and general ledger experience
