Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Department of General Services seeks an Assistant Construction Project Coordinator to support capital improvement projects across the South Eastern Region. The role involves site visits, coordinating with agencies, and ensuring projects meet plans, specs, and regulations.

You will travel daily to Berks, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Lancaster, Lebanon, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties, with occasional trips to Lehigh, Northumberland, and Schuylkill.

Qualifications

• Four years of professional building construction administration, construction planning, or construction project engineering experience.
• Equivalent combination of experience and training accepted.
• Active Pennsylvania Class C driver's license required.
• Must reside or relocate to Berks, Chester, Lancaster or Lebanon County.

Responsibilities

• Project Oversight: conduct job conferences, coordinate and problem-solve to meet plans, specs, general conditions, laws and procedures.
• Client Communication: negotiate and approve change orders within limits and represent the Department in disputes.
• Technical Guidance: provide guidance to outside professionals and contractors.
• Quality Assurance: monitor progress to meet schedules and standards.
• Documentation: use construction software to generate forms and reports.
