Job summary

Vanir Construction Management, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Construction Manager to provide on-site leadership and coordination for California-based projects.

You will help ensure budget, schedule, and design requirements align with contract terms, and may supervise field staff and engineers. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or architecture and at least 3 years of experience in this field, with California public project experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management or Architecture required (CMIT or equivalent experience may be considered).
• 3+ years of experience as an Assistant Construction Manager.
• Experience with public projects in California is required.
• Effective oral and written communication skills are required.
• Knowledge of project controls, scheduling, documentation, and construction principles.
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and CM systems preferred.
• CMIT certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistant construction management services on projects.
• Helps oversee progress of construction.
• Assists in coordinating and monitoring activities of contractors/subcontractors, engineers, architects, and related performing entities.
• Conducts project meetings and produces meeting minutes, documentation, and tracking of information.
• Ensures contractors, architects, and engineers adhere to contractual requirements on safety, performance, and related provisions.
• Assists in managing project logistics, organization, and safety.
• Ensures project closeout, turnover to owner, and related guarantees/warranties.
• May supervise field administrative staff and Field/Project Engineers.
