We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Construction Manager to join our dynamic construction team in Taylor, Texas. As we lead the construction of a cutting-edge semiconductor foundry project, we are looking for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced industrial environment, excels in site coordination and document control, and is committed to upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and schedule compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Site & Subcontractor Coordination: Manage and supervise specific areas of the job site, coordinating closely with General Contractor (GC) and subcontractors regarding daily schedules, safety protocols, and quality standards.
  • Field Operations & Office Balance: Execute a balanced role dividing time between active site walkthroughs (checking field execution, safety, and quality against plans) and office-based project operations.
  • Document Control & Technical Review: Control, send, and receive vital project documentation with designers, GC, and clients. Review all drawings and technical submittals to ensure absolute accuracy, completeness, and alignment with contractual specifications.
  • Blueprint & Contract Verification: Regularly inspect site conditions using architectural and engineering blueprints to verify that GC and subcontractors perform strictly within contract specifications and time limitations.
  • Technical Documentation Generation: Generate and manage critical project documents, including Requests for Information (RFIs), construction plans, and comprehensive progress reports in coordination with the GC and client.
  • Compliance Management: Understand, enforce, and apply all on-site safety and operational codes, promptly identifying and correcting any instances of non-compliance.
  • Emergency Response: Carry out assigned duties efficiently in accordance with the site Emergency Response Plan during critical incidents.
  • Progress Payments & Billing: Review and process monthly progress payment documents submitted by contractors, follow up on related backup materials, and take responsibility for payment approval tracking.
Qualifications
  • Experience: 3 or more years of professional experience in the architectural or construction industry.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in office productivity software, specifically Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with strong general computer literacy.
  • Project Management Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in project management methodologies, document tracking systems, and administrative control.
  • Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to articulate instructions clearly both orally and in writing.
  • Language preference: Bilingual fluency in Spanish or Korean is considered a strong plus (not mandatory).
Key Notes & Requirements
  • Industry Experience: Direct experience in semiconductor, high-tech industrial, or major commercial building construction.
  • Specialized Construction: Specialized construction experience in Reinforced Concrete (RC), Precast Concrete (PC) structures, steel structure construction, and interior finishing works.
  • Cost & Financial Understanding: Strong understanding of construction codes and regulations preferred.
  • Structural Calculation: Ability to perform and review standard structural engineering calculations.
  • Schedule Flexibility: Flexibility and availability for required overtime work, overnight shifts, or holiday schedules as project demands dictate.
