Arlington Properties is offering an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Community Manager to gain valuable hands-on experience while contributing to the success of our properties. This role is designed to prepare individuals for greater responsibilities by offering opportunities to learn and apply knowledge across all aspects of property management.

What You’ll Do:
  • Learn and Grow: Work closely with the Community Manager to learn all administrative, financial, and operational duties involved in managing a property.
  • Leadership Role: Supervise staff and manage property operations in the absence of the Community Manager, serving as a role model for peers.
  • Property Oversight: Conduct regular inspections of common areas, apartment units, and grounds, and recommend improvements to enhance community appeal.
  • Financial Management: Collect rent, process community invoices, and assist in monitoring accounts, including managing delinquent rent collections.
  • Resident Relations: Handle resident service requests, non-payment notices, and follow-up activity to ensure a positive experience for both new and current residents.
  • Leasing Support: Assist with leasing activities, renewals, and ensure compliance with leases and legal documents.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with the leasing and maintenance teams to provide effective leadership and contribute to overall team efforts.
  • Market Knowledge: Stay up to date on competitive properties and market trends to recommend rate increases or promotions.

Qualifications

JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge/Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent is required. A college degree or related coursework in business, hospitality, or property management is preferred. Property management and leasing skills preferred. Sales experience or education desirable. Excellent communication, organizational and leadership skills necessary. Prefer sales/multi-family leasing experience and product sales. Marketing and budgeting experience preferred. Computer literacy required. Experience with computerized property management and/or accounting software.

Machines, Tools and Equipment, Software:

Computer w/internet and e-mail capabilities, Telephone, Facsimile, Photocopier, Vehicle. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel preferred. Property Management software and/or accounting software.

Licenses/Certificates:

Valid driver’s license along with good driving record with auto insurance required.

Other Requirements:

As an Arlington Properties associate you represent Arlington Properties. While you are on the job, Arlington Properties expects you to wear clothing and accessories that are appropriate in a professional business environment. If a uniform is required at your property, you are expected to wear it. Refer to Arlington Properties Dress Code Guidelines for additional information.

Must be able to work any of the seven days of the week as necessary to get the job done.

PHYSICAL AND VISUAL ACTIVITIES

Ability to interpret, evaluate and communicate detailed written or verbal instructions to others accurately and quickly, including answering phones, attending meetings, written correspondence or other forms of communication. Ability to organize various office systems through adjusting, connecting, lifting, pulling, pushing, bending or folding for the purpose of proper records development and/or management. Ability to lift, push, pull or carry up to 15 pounds for the dissemination of documents, supplies, materials, etc. to various locations throughout the office/facility.
