City of New York seeks an Assistant Commissioner for Equal Employment Opportunity to lead DEI initiatives, investigations, and compliance with federal, state, and local laws. The role reports to the Agency Commissioner and oversees EEO policy and staffing, ensuring equitable practices across HPD and related units.

The position requires a strong track record in diversity, equity, and inclusion, leadership in investigations, and the ability to guide policy implementation citywide.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with five years of leadership experience in EEO/AA and diversity.
• Experience with investigations and familiarity with regulatory requirements, laws and guidelines.
• Ability to work as part of a high-level team and commitment to building diversity and inclusion.
• Experience with reasonable accommodations processes.

Responsabilités

• Lead investigations into discrimination/harassment involving protected classes.
• Participate in policy creation and translate into working programs; ensure compliance with laws.
• Consult with executive officers on employment issues and inclusion matters.
• Review and coordinate reasonable accommodation requests with agency managers.
• Manage and supervise a team; conduct live trainings; report to Citywide EEO.
