Job summary

Call Your Mother is seeking an Assistant Commissary Manager in Chicago to lead day-to-day commissary operations, production, and inventory. You’ll ensure high standards, supervise staff, and coordinate with vendors to keep deliveries on schedule.

You’ll build a strong team, manage safety standards, and balance production, efficiency, and cost control while maintaining CYM values in a fast-paced environment. This role includes weekends and flexible shifts.

Qualifications

• 2+ years as a baker or prep cook in fast-paced environments.
• At least 1 year of supervisory/leadership experience in food production facilities.
• Understanding of food production, inventory, safety standards, labor scheduling, and cost control.
• Current ServSafe Manager Certification required/strongly preferred.
• Spanish language skills are preferred; candidate should be proactive learners.
• Highly organized with ability to balance multiple responsibilities and maintain deadlines.
• Comfort with computer systems and quickly adapting to new software.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day Commissary operations from production to distribution.
• Help the team understand goals, uphold standards, and deliver quality.
• Direct daily production, ensuring recipes, safety, and schedules are followed.
• Support labor, inventory, food cost, and waste management for efficiency.
• Manage deliveries, inventory records, reorders, and prevent shortages.
• Ensure health regulations, cleanliness, and CYM safety standards.
• Train and develop team; reinforce safe practices and company values.
• Maintain timekeeping audits, invoices, and commissary-to-shop transfers.
• Coordinate with vendors to keep deliveries on schedule and resolve issues.
