Position
We’re hiring a Commissary Supervisor at our Wicker Park location!
Role Overview
The Commissary Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of commissary production during their shifts. You’ll be a leader for your team, leading by example and holding all pastry team members accountable for their performance and product output through our core values (“VIBES”). You will work with other supervisors and managers to create an efficient work environment, and support our high operational standards by maintaining checklists, recipe specs, and other standardized tools. Willingness to work weekends and holidays is required.

Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of commissary production
- Ensure all team members are following safety, sanitation, and cleanliness policies to meet all government regulations
- Create a safe and fun working environment for all employees
- Be a voice of calm and confidence in high‑pressure situations and demonstrate leadership through adept problem‑solving
- Manage and monitor quality to minimize waste and continuously improve product quality
- Manage production schedule to support shop needs and timelines
- Share ideas, opinions, and suggestions to improve product quality and kitchen efficiency
- Maintain effective relationships with all commissary managers and team members
- Assist with managing team shifts in collaboration with other managers and supervisors
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 2+ years experience as a baker or prep cook in a food production space
- 1+ year experience as a manager in a food production space
- Strong time‑management skills to deliver quality products on schedule
- Flexibility to proactively manage your schedule, including weekends, holidays, evenings, and potential overnight shifts
- Outstanding leadership skills and ability to motivate a diverse team in a fast‑paced environment
- Ability to attract, develop, and retain high‑performing team members
- Positive attitude and passion for food
- A hands‑on management style and willingness to lead by example
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

- Starting wage: $19/hour, plus tips for all positions. With tips, pay is likely to range from $23–25/hour.
