Madison Reed Hair Color Bar is hiring an Assistant Colorist to support licensed colorists and shift leads. Learn color theory, assist with services, and build guest relationships while maintaining a clean, organized workspace.

This role offers base hourly pay plus commissions and tips, with potential earnings in the $28–$30/hour range. This position can be full- or part-time depending on business needs, with a training path toward becoming a Licensed Colorist in 3–9 months and opportunities for

Qualifications

• Active cosmetology license in the state you are applying.
• Entry level customer service or retail experience; salon/beauty preferred.
• Effective communication and people skills in a fast-paced retail or salon.
• Comfortable operating point of sale systems.
• Fluency in English.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate teamwork to provide a guest experience aligned with our values.
• Assist in finishing services, shampooing, conditioning, styling, blowouts, toner, and add-on applications.
• Contribute to achieving monthly sales goals including retail, services, and memberships.
• Maintain cleanliness, merchandising, inventory, and asset security.
• Adhere to Madison Reed protocols and procedures.
• Drive Hair Color Bar revenue through memberships, subscriptions, and home care sales.
• Support training to grow from Assistant Colorist to Licensed Colorist.
