Job summary

Walsh University is seeking an on-campus assistant to support the STUNT program with daily coaching and recruitment/retention planning. The role may involve supervising student coaches or managers and assisting with the strength and conditioning program.

You will represent the program in line with university policies and NCAA rules, and participate in related athletic department duties. A Bachelor's degree is required, with preferred experience in cheerleading or related activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Preferred background in cheerleading, gymnastics, all-star cheer, or dance coaching or administrative experience.
  • Demonstrates understanding of Walsh University's Mission, Vision, Values and Code of Ethical Conduct.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily coaching and with the organization and implementation of a successful recruiting and retention plan for the program.
  • Possibly supervise student coaches or managers.
  • Support the strength and conditioning program.
  • Represent the program in accordance with department/college policies and procedures, and with G-MAC, NCAA and institutional rules.
  • Assist with event management for other sports when not in the traditional STUNT season.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

This is a casual, fully on-campus role, where we do our work in community with colleagues, students, and campus partnersMain Campus - Fully onsitePosition SummaryAssisting with daily coaching and with the organization and implementation of a successful recruiting and retention plan for the program, supervising student coaches or managers, supporting the strength and conditioning program, representing the program in accordance with department/college policies and procedures, and acting in accord with G-MAC (Great Midwest Athletic Conference), NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association), and institutional rules and regulations.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe assistant is responsible for:Assisting with daily coaching and with the organization and implementation of a successful recruiting and retention plan for the program,Possibly supervising student coaches or managers,Supporting the strength and conditioning program,Representing the program in accordance with department/college policies and procedures, and acting in accord with G-MAC, NCAA, and institutional rules and regulations.Other administrative duties in the athletic department may be assigned, such as support of event management for other sports when not in the traditional competitive season for the STUNT program.Other duties as assigned or requiredThis job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee(s) of this position.
