Position Summary
Assist the Head Coach in all facets of the program with emphasis on teaching and mentoring team members relative to sport‑specific skills, NCAA II rules and regulations, individual and team development concepts, and life skills education. Work is performed under general supervision of the Head Coach. This is a part‑time position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Coach in managing and directing the program.
- Assist the Head Coach with all aspects of the program including practices, player instruction, game preparation, competing and scheduling.
- Assist in the coordination of travel arrangements.
- Assist in completion and processing of paperwork as requested.
- Assist with recruiting, including contacting prospective student‑athletes, evaluating high school and junior college players, and maintaining accurate records and databases on the NCAA Compliance Assistant program.
- Work cooperatively with personnel in the athletic department, attend department meetings and activities, and represent the University positively when interacting with the community, alumni, coaches, media and the general public.
- Ensure knowledge of and compliance with Walsh University policy, procedure, NCAA II legislation and conference rules.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and the Vice President for Athletics/Athletic Director.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated understanding of the Walsh University Statement of Faith and a commitment to support the Mission, Vision, Values and Code of Ethical Conduct of Walsh University in accordance with Ex Corde Ecclesiae and the Catholic intellectual tradition.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- At least 3 years’ experience in the sport of swimming/dive, including playing and/or coaching. Other significant experience related to coaching and/or the administration of an intercollegiate athletics program may be considered.
- Professional demeanor and ability to interact positively with students, staff and faculty.
- Ability to instruct and supervise student athletes.
- Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Maintain emotional control under stress.
- Frequent travel statewide and districtwide; frequent prolonged and irregular hours.
- Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods; exhibit manual dexterity to operate a telephone, read a computer screen and printed material, and handle basic tasks with or without vision aids.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds to shoulder height and 50 pounds to waist height, and to bend, stoop, sit on the floor, climb stairs, walk and reach overhead.
- Must be able to handle and communicate over loud noises in a gymnasium or event space, including whistles, crowd noise, and yelling.
