Reporting directly to the Director of Culture and Belonging, this position plays a crucial role in supporting and implementing initiatives related to international student services, global learning and intercultural education. The coordinator will work closely with the Director, creating a stronger sense of belonging through outreach, student-centered programs, individualized support and mentorship. The successful candidate will contribute to creating a welcoming and culturally rich campus environment that aligns with the university's Catholic traditions and values.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:Student Outreach and Support:Administer the University’s international student support and intercultural engagement functions, exercising independent judgment in determining appropriate services, interventions, referrals, and programmatic responsePlan and execute programs and events that promote intercultural understanding, awareness, and appreciation among students, faculty, and staffCollaborate with student organizations, academic departments, and campus partners to facilitate initiatives promoting cultural humilityServe as the advisor for Black Student Union and World Student organizationProvide support in coordinating services for international students, including orientation programs, immigration advising, and academic supportCollaborate with academic departments to ensure international students receive necessary support for academic successOrganize and promote cultural exchange opportunities for international and domestic studentsServe as personal and academic mentor to build a sense of belongingPromote and implement programs designed to enhance student experiences at Walsh University cultivating a welcoming environment for students, addressing individual student needs to foster cross-cultural understandingAdministrative duties:Coordinate the promotion of study beyond programs, including student recruitment, advising, pre-departure, and re-entry programsManage logistics and communications related to study beyond opportunitiesServe as a Designated School Official (DSO) to support international students through immigration advising and guidance, independently evaluate international student applicationsIssue and maintain authorized immigration documentationAdvise students regarding status requirements, identify potential compliance concerns and advise PDSO if the matter requires escalationCoordinate data collection for program assessment and reportingMaintain accurate records and databasesManage communication channels to ensure effective and timely dissemination of informationTrack student club/organization budgets including expenditures and revenues, maintaining records, and linking program objectives and assessment to the university’s vision strategic implementation prioritiesCollaboration and Communication:Foster positive relationships with diverse student populations, faculty, staff, and external partnersCollaborate with other university departments to integrate cultural humility into various aspects of campus lifeThis job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee(s) of this position.
