Job summary

Babson College is seeking an assistant coach within the Department of Athletics and Recreation. The role includes coaching, planning practice sessions, mentoring student‑athletes, and supporting recruiting efforts while maintaining academic progress oversight.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree and 1–3 years of coaching experience, with safety certifications and strong communication skills. It is a non-exempt, hourly role based on campus needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• 1–3 years of coaching experience preferred.
• CPR/First Aid/AED safety certifications and concussion training required or to be obtained within 3 months.
• Bloodborne Pathogen training per OSHA regulations; maintained yearly.
• Strong communication skills essential.
• Compliance with NCAA, NEWMAC, and Babson College rules.

Responsibilities

• Assist head coach in management and direction of the program.
• Coaching practice sessions and games; teach advanced skills and game strategy.
• Counsel students and refer to support services as needed.
• Monitor academic progress and mentor student-athletes.
• Develop liaison with Health Services, Residential Education, and other departments.
• Assist in recruiting and scouting opponents.
