Job summary

Paterson Public School District 307 KENNEDY HIGH SCHOOL in Paterson, New Jersey is seeking an Assistant Coach for softball for the 2027 spring season. This is a part-time stipend position running March 9, 2027 through June 14, 2027, with daily availability during the season.

Candidates must hold a New Jersey Teacher's or Substitute Teacher Certificate (experience proof for substitute). CPR/AED certified, Concussion and Heat Acclimatization certificates renewed annually.

Qualifications

• New Jersey Teacher's Certificate OR Substitute Teacher Certificate; proof of experience required for substitute certificate holder.
• Coaching experience preferred, but not required.
• Must be available daily during the spring sports season.
• Must be certified in CPR and AED, and holding a current certificate in both.
• Must obtain a 'Concussion Awareness and Wellness' certificate or its equivalent, renewed annually.
• Must Obtain a 'Heat Acclimatization Awareness and Wellness' certificate or it's equivalent, renewed annually.
• All new coaches will have one year after being hired to successfully complete a course in 'Sports First Aid'.
• Meet such alternatives to above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
• Pending budget availability
• All posting are open for ten (10) consecutive days following the date posted on the Paterson Public Schools website

Responsibilities

• Coach softball and support student-athletes during the spring season.
• Be available for daily activities during the spring sports season.
• Maintain required certifications and complete the Sports First Aid course within one year.
