Job summary

Sweetgreen in Manhattan Beach is seeking an Assistant Coach (Assistant General Manager) to lead, mentor, and strategize for the store. You will partner with the Head Coach to set goals, drive guest experiences, and apply data-driven insights to deliver real food and healthy communities.

As a hands-on leader, you’ll mentor staff, ensure food safety and brand standards, and manage schedules while supporting short- and long-term plans. This role offers growth within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a restaurant management/supervisory role.
• Ability to manage and develop 6+ team members per shift.
• Food Handler or ServSafe certification is required.
• Available to work minimum 30 hours per week.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Head Coach on hiring, onboarding and training.
• Mentor team members and drive operational excellence.
• Ensure food safety, cleanliness and equipment maintenance.
• Deliver exceptional guest experiences using data insights.
• Manage schedules and controllable costs; support sales initiatives.
• Execute duties across Shift Leader, Kitchen Lead and Team Member paths.
