Job summary

E. C. Glass High School in Lynchburg, VA is seeking an Assistant Coach for the JV Girls Basketball program. You will assist the head coach, plan practices, and help develop players’ skills and game understanding through structured drills and guidance.

Responsibilities include leading practice sessions, monitoring athletes during competitions, and collaborating with the Athletic Director to support program success and student-athlete growth.

Qualifications

• Previous coaching experience preferred.
• Experience in basketball skills and techniques essential.
• Must complete VHSL coaches certification.

POSITION SUMMARY

• Responsible for assisting the head coach of the Girls Basketball program. Coaching, instructing, and performing other duties assigned by the coach and or Athletic Director necessary to the development of the individuals and the team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Assists the head coach with planning and teaching student athletes the rules, techniques, and skills to become a better basketball player.
• Assists and directs individual and group practice activities as assigned by the head coach.
• Monitoring student athletes during practices and competitions.
