Job summary

Lynchburg City Schools' E. C. Glass High School is seeking an Assistant Coach for Varsity Football to support the head coach and help develop players' skills. This position is part-time with duties including planning, teaching football techniques, and coordinating practice sessions.

The role requires prior coaching experience and a Virginia High School League coaching certification. The incumbent will report to the Athletic Director and may travel to away games as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous coaching experience is preferred.
• Experience in football and football techniques is essential.
• Must have completed Virginia High School League coaches certification class.

FLSA Status: Exempt Site/Location: E. C. Glass High School Reports to: Athletic Director Date: 07/23/2026

POSITION SUMMARY

• Responsible for assisting the head coach of the Football program.
• Coaching, instructing, and performing other duties assigned by the coach and or Athletic Director necessary to the development of the individuals and the team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Assists the head coach with planning and teaching student-athletes the rules, techniques, and equipment to become better football players.
• Assists and directs individual and group practice activities as assigned by the head coach.
• Monitoring student-athletes during practices and competitions.
