Reporting to the Head Coach, Baseball, the Assistant Coach will assist in the organization, planning, coaching, instructing, and teaching at all practices and games.

This position requires frequent travel and often requires evening and weekend work.

Essential Functions

Assists in skill instruction and student-athlete development both on and off the field, with emphasis on instruction in pitching mechanics, playing defense, holding runners, and all other necessary components to being a Division I pitcher.

Evaluates, identifies, and recruits quality student-athletes in compliance with University, Atlantic 10, and NCAA regulations and policies.

Assists the head coach with administrative operations of the baseball program as needed.

Complies with all NCAA , Atlantic 10, and University rules and regulations.

Attends fundraising and community service events upon request to support the program.

Required Qualifications: Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree.

Minimum of 1 year of experience as a baseball coach or student-athlete.

An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered.

Experience developing pitching skills.

Required Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills

Demonstrated ability to coach pitching skills; able to prepare and assist in practice preparation for pitchers.

High-level organizational skills.

Demonstrated commitment and motivation to build a successful program.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Understanding and knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

Coaching experience in an NCAA program.

Valid Driver’s License.
