To assist the head coach in meeting the criteria for a successful program.

Performance Responsibilities

1. Year-round
   • Understand and know the rules and regulations regarding the sport as presented by the KHSAA.
   • Keep abreast of all rules and rule changes.
   • Assist the head coach in carrying out assigned responsibilities.
2. Seasonal
   • Assist the head coach in proper registration of all athletes.
   • Assist in systematic issuance of equipment.
   • Meet with the squad to discuss rules and regulations, focusing on Athletic Guidelines.
   • Ensure proper care of equipment and facilities.
   • Supervise athletes and teams as needed.
   • Attend practice sessions regularly.
   • Apply discipline positively and firmly.
   • Emphasize safety precautions and injury prevention.
   • Conduct oneself ethically during contests and practices.
3. End of season
   • Assist in returning, storing, and inventorying school equipment.
   • Additional responsibilities, such as scouting opponents, may be assigned.
4. Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach, Assistant Principal for Athletics, or Principal.
