The Philadelphia Runner Track Club is looking for a passionate coach to join its growing staff. This role involves crafting training plans, assisting with race planning, and engaging with a community of runners across various skill levels. The ideal candidate will have coaching experience and a strong commitment to fostering a welcoming environment for all athletes. Flexible hours are available, and compensation is negotiable based on experience.
Philadelphia Runner Track Club (PRTC) seeks qualified applicants to join the coaching staff for our growing track club.
PRTC is a non-profit based in Philadelphia serving as a home for competitive adult runners in the Greater Philadelphia area. Our mission is "to promote and foster the development of adult runners in their pursuit of ever-faster times, team championships, and Olympic dreams." Our club is athlete-operated and competes in a wide range of areas with a particular emphasis on USATF sanctioned events. Responsibilities
+ Work closely with head coach, James Snyder to craft monthly training blocks for one or more of our training groups (Mid-Distance-focused, Cross Country, or Marathon).
+ Engage in race planning in support of team goals (ex: USATF Club XC, USATF Mid-Atlantic Grand Prix, Philadelphia Marathon Weekend, and the Broad Street Run)
+ Be willing to be featured in our social media coverage of practice and club activities.
+ Mandatory attendance at Tuesday evening workouts as coach (6:30 pm - 8:00pm), usually a Franklin Field at the University of Pennsylvania, occasionally other locations).
+ Optional attendance at Sunday morning long run (9:00 am - 11:00am) or another day of the week if you’d like to coordinate your own practice time.
+ Attendance at key team races as coach depending on your interest.
What we’re looking for:
+ Passion for track and field, cross country, or distance running
+ Previous experience coaching a team or experience coaching sub-elite or elite athletes
+ Excellent communication skills.
+ Someone who is welcoming and able to work with people of various ability levels (new to the sport and experienced).
+ Demonstrated commitment to Clean and Safe Sport initiatives
+ Preferred: Experience working with female athletes, people new to structured training, or creating training plans for marathon athletes.
