Duties And Responsibilities

• Assists in team coaching, preparing team for competition, and individual student-athlete development. Also included is assisting in monitoring academic, social, and personal development of softball student-athletes.
• Assists in identifying and recruiting academically and athletically talented student-athletes for the softball program.
• Assists in the coordination of team and individual travel for the purpose of team competition and student-athlete recruitment. To include traveling with the team to away competitions.
• Assists in promotion and development of program by creating and maintaining effective relationships with alumni, donors, and community members. Assists in the planning and implementation of camps and clinics. Participates in events as a representative of the department and softball program.
• Assists in coordination and monitoring of student-athletes’ academic progress along with weekly academic meetings, study hall supervision, and scheduling of academic meetings.
• Maintains knowledge and remain current regarding all appropriate NCAA , Atlantic 10 Conference, Department of Athletics and Recreation, and University compliance issues, policies, and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and/or Director of Athletics and Recreation. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning additional responsibilities that are logically related to the position.
  
  

Minimum Education And/or Work Experience

Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.

Two years of collegiate coaching experience in designated sport required.

Understanding of and compliance with NCAA rules and regulations and commitment to the mission of Jesuit higher education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of successful coaching experience and/or playing experience at the NCAA level is required.
• The successful candidate will have an emphasis on coaching and recruiting pitchers.
• Experience with fiscal management and daily operations of an intercollegiate athletics department preferred.
