JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics, a Division I and Big Ten Conference Institution, is seeking an Assistant Coach for the Women's Basketball program. The Assistant Coach will assist the Head Coach in all aspects of the program.

Responsibilities include:

  • Recruiting, coaching, developing, motivating, and evaluating student-athletes academically and athletically, in compliance with NCAA, Big 10, and Penn State policies.
  • Ensuring compliance with administrative processes related to team travel, recruiting, budget, student-athlete eligibility, and academic progress.
  • Alumni relations.
  • Participating in fundraising and community service efforts.
  • Collaborating with Communications staff to provide media information and prepare web-based and written materials.
  • Upholding the university's mission and department's vision to prepare students for a lifetime of impact.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience. Division I coaching and/or playing experience is preferred.

This position requires:

  • Clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Background Check.
  • A credit history check due to financial responsibilities.
  • Operation of a motor vehicle, requiring a valid driver's license and a motor vehicle records check.
